Yesterday I finally got around to watch that NW gig from Sydney. Took me about 20 minutes, then I turned it off, because I simply couldn't bear with the crap. Who the hell told Tuomas that Anette can sing? She mostly only squeaks or screams, she can't take any high notes at all.But after she made a complete shit out of my all time favourite Ever

You are naturally entitled to your opinion and she's not my absolute favourite vocalist in the world either (although I like her and have witnessend three gigs where I thought she was really good), but in Anette's defense I have to say that she was really ill in Sydney, she's been struggling with health problems during the whole your so far as this is still new to her, traveling with crazy schedule etc.

Well maybe it was that, I don't know. As I said, I hope that seeing them live will make me change my opinion. Still, it was not only her voice, that could've been affected by her being ill (though if she was so ill, why did she go on stage?), but her overall stage presence - some ridiculous dress, showing that the skin on her chest is quite old as well as her breasts, that are already hanging and she could use some push ups or something, and a pair of combat boots that had nothing to do with the dress + ridiculous way of dancing

Well, one reason for choosing her is probably the fact that she's a really lovely, down-to-earth person and they get along with her really well. *shrug*
Also, she has a great stage presence (despite some of her rather unfortunate wardrobe choices ;p) and contact to the audience, and she's constantly joking around with the guys. Oh well, I suppose people who are more used to the Nightwish they were during Tarja era may have some difficulties getting used to this new, less dramatic and serious version. It's all a matter of taste, I suppose. *shrugs again*

Well, yes, she is down-to-earth and all that, but I think the first thing to look in a vocalist is the vocals, no? What's the use of her being all friendly with everyone, if she can't sing?

I haven't even listened to old NW songs sung by Anette, because Tarja is one of the very few female vocalists that I like :/ Looks like Anette sucks even more than I thought, if even those who find her ok on the CD don't like the way she sings the old stuff...

I wasn't the largest Tarja fan in the world, as you might now, but i did think she was (and still is) a great vocalist. After hearing the new Nightwish i was like "What the f*ck?!?" But then everybody seemed to like annete so i thought it was just me being not a real nw-fan bothering with her. Thankfully i'm not alone in that! Yeah maybe that gig sucked because she was ill, but even the albumsongs miss something, a kinda power in her voice. And yeah, she does hove old breasts, wish someone would tell her!

:DD Well I said it from the very beginning that she is old, my mom is older than her, but looks younger. Though ok, you can hide it all with make up and proper dressing (which she doesn't do anyway).
I don't really know what they were thinking when they chose her *sigh* But then again, they got a bunch of new fans, who will swallow whatever shit NW will put out.

Can't agree with you more. I wasn't checking out on any stuff at all, because well...I have other things to be concerned about. I am completely out of date of what is going on in the NW camp and I couldn't care less. So what I saw yesterday was quite a shock for me *sigh* They are still very important to me, because discovering them led to quite a lot of changes in my life. But now it's just not the same. My love for Finland is as strong as ever, but it is not based on music anymore.
Nightwish are still the same lyrics and music, yes. The ingredients are the same, but the way the dish is served is different.

Wow. I can't believe there are people who have no-life! You can't accept the fact the style of the new vocalist is not your cup of tea? Or you have to say bullshits about her way of dressing and about why Nightwish choosed her. Which kind of "other reasons" Tuomas had to choose her in your opinions? I can't believe people are making theories about why she had been chosen. And unfortunately I've read some very stupid comments insinuating mean things from people who have no-life and , above all, who don't know the band members personally to judge them.
I've seen 2 times Nightwish live with Anette..and also with Tarja. And they are not crap now for me. Neither I can't say anything about her stage presence. Her way of dressing is her business and I'm certainly not spending hours watching Anette boobs and notice she wears or not a bra.
I found this blog casually and I couldn't restrain to comment, sorry.
