A couple of years ago, a lady in my church taught us to sing 'The last rose of Summer.' I thought it was the prettiest song I've ever heard.

Sometimes, it's nice to read little fluffy, pwp fics, but sometimes, it's nice, and good for the soul and mind to read fics like this. My great-great-grandparents were among the immigrants who flocked to the US during the famine and this story made me wish I knew more about them.
I wish there was a really good way to say how much I loved reading this. I'm memory-ing it.
