poor peanut! So, it sounds to me like they might have nicked his gum or something when they were cleaning his teeth?

Yeah, it was pretty a pretty aggressive cleaning. Like I said, they even wanted to pull some teeth to make maintenance easier. :-(

aww poor thing! My cat licks his leg where they shave it - what's up with that? Do they think the hair will come back?

LOL, who knows. Maybe it's one of those "man that's weird" things. I've had a goatee or beard since I was about 25, and there's been a time or two when I've shaved it all off just for giggles, and it feels funny and I often rub my chin or run my hand over my upper lip/mouth/chin. Maybe it's something like that.

Yeah, he's doing a lot better. I think (hope!) it's over now. He hasn't bled since Saturday and he seems a lot happier.
