I think I am a fairly thankful person. I do take time to reflect on the things I have and be grateful for them. I make an effort to not obsesses over the things I *don't* have. Exactly. I never want to be the kind of person who gives out of a 'superior' place. I want to be the kind who acts in compassion with an attitude of "There, but for the grace of God, go I," because I firmly believe that the there is not as big chasm between *me* and *them* as it seems on the outside. And *everyone* deserves a basic modicum of respect as a default.
So, I'd stop at the Dunkin' Donuts and get a box of a dozen instead of two, and extra coffee, and just share with those guys. Never got a thank you, and didn't need one.
Yeah, I get that. I do the same thing from time to time, but in a kamikaze fashion. Like, on the way to work on an early morning, I sometimes stop by McDees and buy an extra breakfast and give it to one of the guys sleeping on the benches downtown. That kind of thing really works for me. Thanks are optional.
There was one guy, about 60, who used to come with me ( ... )

The only way I know of to make random acts of Kindness more prolific is by doing them. And random, kamikaze compassion is totally my cuppa tea, so... yeah. I can dig it.
Heh. Here I am planning to be random. *snicker* I like it.
