I have found my people

This past weekend I went to Lexington, KY for the Midwest Chapter of the Music Library Association's Meeting. I had a blast! The people were great and we did fun things as well as typical conference events. There were only 48, which was a stark comparison to the 25,000 at ALA in Chicago this past summer. ( Read more... )

I'm jealous that you were in Lexington. My dad recently talked to the director of the Lexington Public Library about the job I had applied for there. It would have been v. stressful, so I'm glad I got the job I did. But I love Kentucky. At least in theory. I haven't lived there as an adult, so who knows.

That library is really beautiful inside. I would love to work with their special collections of music, and I also liked the University of Kentucky atmosphere a lot. I didn't realize it was in Lexington, so I was expecting a smaller town. I love the landscape too, and it was rainy which I love. I want to go back to the Shaker Village and finally make it to Berea, someday....

Friday evening was spent at the Kentucky Horse Park. First we went on a hayride, then had time to walk around the grounds and go through the museum and giftshop.

DID YOU SEE CIGAR?!?!?!

I dunno either, but I'd be willing to bet big money on "a horse" ;)
