Young has sex with his wife while in Telford's body and the link gets severed during the act:

Here's one quote about it. I can't find the other one where he talks about swapping positions with Louis Ferreira and trying to get the positions the same.

Lou Diamond Phillips said in an interview: "I have to say, I'm also involved in one of the most interesting sex scenes ever to grace sci-fi later on in the first season. It's humourous but also mind-boggling. 'Shock factor' may be a bit of an overstatement, but I think people will be surprised at how far the creators are willing to go in this series. It's in the episode called 'Earth'. I exchange consciousness with another character, and let's just say I pop up in a very inopportune moment." (link)

Here's that other interviewQ: What cool worlds have you gotten to visit ( ... )

Ooo-kay :O
Wow, I can see where that might cause some controversy *facepalm*
That could be kind of embarrassing for all parties involved :O

I gotta say tho, I'm getting kind of sick of the communication stones, the novelty has worn off and now they're just a plot device to be pulled out whenever neccesary ;)

Yeah, it seems most of the controversy is about sex and the stones. :O (that sounds so rock'n'roll-like)

I hope there isn't another reason for the controversy -- this part of the episode will be bad enough. Although, Lou's talked about this scene in lots of interviews and I haven't seen much controversy about it. I'm wondering if there is another aspect of the episode that Lenic is referring to.

And they wonder why so many fans refer to this show as "Stargate: 90210"?

Sounds a bit naff and contrived to me. Also... rape? Ew...

I feel for Telford -- that's actually kind of a strange thing to say at this point. :O

Of course, we don't know all of the details, but man, this will certainly be a delicate situation for all three.

I think where the stones are concerened, we knew SOMEBODY was bound to try this one. Heck, we see in the sneak peak and in the trailer Eli and Chloe taking their switched bodies out for a bit of fun... I think the whole Young and Telford switching just goes to show you how far some people are willing to take things with the stones. It does sadden me that Young is essentially abusing another's body to try and make things work with his wife. Honestly, if I were in that position, I don't care what the body looked like, if it wasn't my Hubby's own body, I'd be kicking somebody out the door!

I wonder if we end up seeing the demise or at least restricted use of the stones from now on. I guess it depends on how Telford reacts to it all...

It does seem like they'll have to establish some kind of protocol so that something like this doesn't happen again.

It goes back to whether something like this is consensual. Did Telford give consent for Young to use his body in this way? Is he okay with it and the only "shock" is that he ends up aware that he's in bed with someone else's wife?

If that's indeed true, then they're just going to run into the same problem further along in "Sabotage" :O

The issue of consent seems to be something they're going to be ramming down our throats in some way or another?

I wish they'd give the stones up completely, they really aren't much use except as a plot device to cause controversy...

I say get on with some decent stories and leave the drama at the door :O

After watching all the episodes, I kind of get the feeling that Mrs. Young has fallen out of love with her husband since he joined the SGC. He's only been married for two years and already they were at a point where Mrs. Young has said either it's me or the SGC. This could be very well be a goodbye sex deal or even a pity one. But, I do agree with ladyreeana. This show is a "human" drama and the communication stones have been in the Stargate world of years.

We've seen Vala take over Daniel's body and enjoy herself in the man's locker room so it seems interesting when we apply it to a man who knows his marriage his failing and, unlike SGA, there is no way what-so-ever at the time they can even think about going back to Earth in the their real body.

My opinion is, if there isn't hate for the series then it's not worth it. A lot of people hated SGA when it was first out and they warmed up later to it. The producers always said they will never make a copy of the original. And with SGU they've done that. They've made the 'Gate verse a little more ( ... )

Fortunately, Vala didn't take Daniel's body for a joy ride, if you will. Mitchell and Carter were very protective of Daniel, thank goodness.

The female end of the spectrum will be dealt with again in a future episode, according to spoilers.

Well, there's real and then there's just downright offensive.
