OMG! S! I LOVED this....loved. This piece reminds me a lot of the air that you had in the ferris wheel prompt, which I also adored. I must confess that I sorta skimmed through the other women, though I did like the opening paragraph about House. But the Cam stuff? Gorgeous. Just. Gorgeous. A side of House that I know exists, but that's so hidden underneath the layers of sarcasm and self-protection, that I don't know if we'll ever see it.

Some of this prose is off-the-wall gorgeous!

Hey, I've been watching the US Open and everything is rained out. Are you drenched? Want me to come over and make you some tea and scones? Keep safe and flood-free.

Hi J!! Thanks so much! So glad you liked it! And look another 'you' POV that you despise! ;) lol! Sorry you skimmed through the other women... I was just trying to juxtapose his sometimes callousness with women, I guess, at times, when he really didn't take the time to or even really didn't care to know them versus now when he wants to. But very glad you liked the Cam stuff. And the prose. ;) I have been having the most horrible case of writer's block... really... it took me a while to write this, and I'm not a hundred percent happy with it, I'm just glad it's done! I'm glad it's liked though! ;) No, loved it! Yay! ;)

Yes, we're finally getting a reprieve from the rain! Thank goodness! I had to basically force the dog outside last night! It was raining sideways! The poor doberman doesn't like to get her precious paws wet! lol. But we did light a fire in the fireplace (with all that wood from the tree that had fallen! lol!). But tea and scones would be lovely! thank you! (Unfortunately, my mother, this time, had a ( ... )

Hi there?? How are you?? I just got my new computer this week... so I can get over to your LJ and check our your pics of your lovely new home! Congrats! I couldn't see them all before and was having all kinds of browser problems and couldn't leave a comment, etc. PLUS, I need to read your story, I'm way behind on everything (I got all sick again with migraines...so, as always, running a bit behind...ahhh! Does it ever end!) Best wishes with your new home though! I'm very happy for you ( ... )

Hey, new puter duds are a reason to celebrate!
Yes, it is! I have been patiently waiting/saving for one since the end of March when my other one pretty much hiccuped and was dying on me.. so this has made me very happy!

Its cooling off finally, 98 degrees today, which is cool in our neck of the woods!
Whoo! I can't imagine!

Ahhh, the painting and the wallpaper! Lots of fun! The only thing I can tell you is, put on good music and try to have some fun! When it's done, I'm sure it will look great and you'll be thrilled! I hope you took before pictures so you can compare with some after-pictures and you'll be proud of all your had work! Hang in ther!

Yay! Go read my story "Friends in Need". Its a H/C/W story, but it seemed to get a few good reviews. I certainly will! It's on my to-do 'reading' list! I'm working on my piece for the smut-a-thon that's due this week (help)! And I've been suffering the most horrible case of writer's block, so everything has been cranking out really slow and difficult.. it just hasn't been easy ( ... )

Your writing, as always, is just so beautiful. I really read every word of your fic whenever you write one and I never regret it. You have such a gorgeous way of getting into these characters and displaying on the page and it's truly a gift.

Beautiful fic.

Amanda, Thank you so much for your very kind, actually, too kind words... You are so very thoughtful as always. I have been struggling for a while, so while it's so nice to hear, at the same time I feel as if I don't deserve the compliments. What makes me happy and pleased is that you like the story...that you like the way the characters are written (I think!). I hope that I continue to write fics that you don't regret reading! I'm sure I will continue to travel roads that go up and down, I guess signing up for ficathons like this and things like the hc_challenge and help me challenge myself, which is good, and not every fic or drabble will be a 'winner' and that's okay. Thank you so much, as always, for being a loyal reader of my work... I so greatly appreciate that. Now...I'm waiting for your divine inspiration ( ... )

Oh, I definitely like the way they're written. I'm telling you, you have this wonderful style of writing that comes out on the page and makes these characters come alive and I know it's silly and cliched to say that, but it's really true.

and not every fic or drabble will be a 'winner' and that's okay.

I think that even though you didn't seem to love this one, the fact that you still posted it and still are receiving a bunch of comments praising you for it has to show you that you've got a wonderful talent for getting inside these characters' heads.

Now...I'm waiting for your divine inspiration! ;)

Trust me, so am I! :)

I've started writing one of the fics I signed up for at hw_fest and while the beginning was kind of cool, imo, as I kept writing, it started to decline, so I think I may start over. Unfortunately, I have no ideas in my head. :(

How's everything going?? I've been swamped this week and haven' ( ... )

That was gorgeous. I think the start was a fabulous character study of House and some of the women who have crossed his life, and the parts with Cameron were just... beautiful in their tenderness. I love how this was written, it was lyrical, for lack of a better word, and flowed so well. You're back! Yay! ;D

Am I back? *laugh* I don't know about that! ;) This took me quite some time to do! I'm quite pleased that you like it! And that you think it's lyrical! lol I actually couldn't think of a better name... it was my WIP title lol, and then I just kind of thought, 'well, maybe it fits.'

I think the start was a fabulous character study of House and some of the women who have crossed his lifeThank you. I really like sometimes creating a ficitious past for the characters... it's fun, and it gives you a certain freedom to really create... how did they become the person they are today?? I just got this line in my head, and I went with it... the whole story was based around "You met Pam when you were seventeen." Who's Pam? And what does she mean? What's the backstory? That...and making love to Cameron while listening to Nina Simone in the background. Those two ideas were the entire story... and then I was stuck! So I'm glad that you liked the tenderness with Cameron. I was worried that it would come off waaaaaay too OOC, ( ... )

*grins* Well its definitely a good start! I reckon sometimes its easier to jog some ideas when you write anything, even if it takes a while.

Definitely. I love how the show leaves it ambigious (well, sometimes), so we can take liberties with their backstory. And you did a marvellous job - especially the coke/hippie chick, because we all know House did it back in the day ;D I think the OOCishness totally works though, like you said. It highlights that contrast. Yep, I'm well! I know what you mean about being swamped, it hasn't taken over LJ quite yet, but it's starting to get there. Ooh, and can't wait to hear your comments when you do read! I'm starting to let myself get further and further behind on that fic and I'm a bit worried it might be hard to get back to soon... Ask away, when you have the time ;D I hope all is well with you too!
