Since we have so many stories and works of art to offer from this challenge this year, we want to make sure things don't get lost in the shuffle! To that end, we're going to devote the month of September to allowing authors to highlight their stories by posting a DVD commentary, fic discussion, interviews, whatever they want to do. During this process we'll also be giving their matching art a little bit of extra love. *g*
One of the options is to add in a reader review - we haven't quite worked out how this will work. Either a reader will post a review to
sgabigbang or the writer will post it as part of their "hey, this is my story (again)!" post.
But either way, in order to do that, we need readers willing to write up reviews! *g* So if you find a story you love from this challenge, we'd like to invite you to offer up your review services. We're not asking for anything essay-esque - a paragraph or two, a page, whatever you have the time/inclination to do. We do want to keep these reviews pretty positive though, for our purposes. You can do whatever you want for your review - talk about your favorite moments, what about the characterization worked for you, favorite quotes, story structure, whatever you would like.
If you have any interest in reviewing a story, drop a brief comment to that effect on the story feedback post so the writer can get back to you and let you know their assigned posting date, and the game plan. I'd suggest leaving your e-mail address for contact purposes as well.
If you see this paragraph at the end of a story, that author has decided to work in a review in their story and as such, would welcome your reviewing services:
This writer has elected to participate in a SGA Big Bang review project. If you are a reader who has enjoyed this story and would like to write a short, (positive) review of this story, we'd like your help! If you enjoyed this story so much that you'd like to write up a little bit on why and what worked for you and your favorite bits, then please read through
this post right here, and come back to this entry and comment with your regular feedback, plus a little phrase along the lines of: "pick me to review your story!" so the writer knows you are up for it. If you've seen other people offer to review the story, offer anyway, because the writers are the ones who will select who reviews their story. (And they can select more than one person if they so choose.)
If you don't want to write a review, of course, no worries! Just feedback as you normally would!
And like that last sentence clearly states? These are TOTALLY OPTIONAL. If you want to go with regular feedback, that's what we're expecting from 99% of you!
