As Lucifer to Yahweh and Mara to Buddhism... every damn religion really (bar maybe Hinduism). Gods need devils, the same way policemen need trunchons. People listen to sermons when hellfire gets mentioned... or cullings/

If Christianity is not a religion then the time of an awful lot of people at this university has been wasted... and if God can't stand the heat, he should get out the kitchen.

Firstly on the lines of the 'I will write something light hearted one day' I remind you of a certain Ancient artifact in a tasteful blue.

Secondly My Gods.

Thirdly well done. Poor Todd. You did a good job of this and the Ori with the Wraith behind them is just disturbing. There's something really sickening about seeing Todd in that sort of position.

Fourthly may be gods need devils but I think the best gods are their own devils. It's a much more interesting well rounded idea. But then I always liked the creator/destroyer of Good and Evil metaphor.......also gods that had personality and wavering morals.

Fifth....did I mention 'Oh My Gods'?

Oh yeah no arguement there he'd do it if he thought he had to to survive.

Apparently the original definition of 'hero' had no moral conotations. Hero just meant a mortal who was powerful and did things that were beyond the norm. And even when the moral conotation came through it depends which side you're on as to whether they're a hero or villian. That's the nature of power. I think it's different with Gods because I think of them as states of mind-metaphors. And I'm not sure I know of any real out and out monsters. I can't think of any examples........And I don't like writing them because they're unrealistic....I think there's a difference but short of feelings and dreams there isn't much in the line of ways to tell. I mean....just defining either concept is complicated, and I'm getting too philosophical for story reveiw now me thinks.
