I like to thing he did follow Rodney into the dark and found him waiting there in another dimension and together they carry on their adventures somewhere else with only themselves to answer to.

Or that the ancients brought Rodney back to save Atlantis

or, better still I like to think that Rodney didn't die! LOL

I actually like this a lot. I wrote something similar, but a future fic, Rodney without John, he didn't know how to do that - neither one of them knows how to to do that. And it is so John Sheppard to take these chances, what's left here anyway without Rodney? Loved how you used the 'not dead yet' for both scenarios - brilliant!

(lol, I went with Not Dead Yet for a title too! Yays for unoriginality :D)
