Very nicely done!! I'm a compolsive list maker myself, and it was just nice to read about Rodney dealing with his problems in a way that is *so* his character.
Thanks! I figure Rodney's had these anxiety issues all of his life, and he obviously has developed some coping skills to handle them. Work seems to be one of the ways he structures his thoughts and decreases his tension; he can't think about both dying and "what needs to be done to make sure he doesn't die" at precisely the same time. Distraction like that seems to work for him. *g*
Oh, so very Rodney, reducing the big giant anxieties down to this food in this room>--conversely, so that he will be able to deal with the bigger problems when they come up, like a circle of panic and dealing with said panic.
It's cool to have a character whose anxieties keep showing up in little ways in canon. Obviously, they can't be totally running his life or he wouldn't be on the team, but it's interesting to see them surge and ebb over the course of the series. It's fun and complex, and damage attracts me. *g*
