I really liked both this and Ankhs, but only just catching up with feeding back. I like the continuity of traditions being carried over from the SGC to Atlantis, it feels very real to me, and the sharing of those traditions with new community members (should be posting that in Ankhs really, sorry) is very nice.

I like stories about traditions, and the ways that they are created. This had wonderful insight into how Atlantis copes with what is happening to them, and how bringing a tradition from 'the old country' breaks across other internal barriers. Nicely done.

Writtne in 37 minutes? You're amazing!

Aside from which, this nice, reflective piece was very good: and you are right that it stands on its own even though I quite liked 'Ankhs' too, which was also great in a different way.

The sense of continuity you give by going through the years since the tragedy Ford is thinking of is very hopeful and life-affirming and that is especially precious in such circumstances.

Good job!
