*happy sigh* This was a really nice way to do tension even with an established relationship -- felt real, that they'd be flying apart like this, and felt great when they found their way back together. yay!

I loved making up the bathhouse. I should find the 'dry well' picture that inspired my variation and post it sometime; it really was too cool. And yay! I'm glad you liked it.

There's this thing about Rodney's curmudgeonly behavior in that it can be fun and not really all that threatening, or it can be sharp and surgical and really tear someone up. I kinda backed into having him do that to John, but I think they could have some amazing, gut-wrenching arguments.
