Janet leaned in and pressed a kiss to Sam's temple. Sam's hands reached up to brush Janet's collar and then settled against the medic's jaw, bringing their lips to meet. In the back of Janet's mind, she knew Sam needed comfort. If this was the sort of comfort she needed, then she was more than willing to give. It was about Sam tonight, though. All about Sam.

Sam broke away and grabbed Janet's hand, pulling her into the hall and up the stairs. She led them to Janet's room and once inside, pulled the smaller woman against her. Sam's hands reached around Janet and gripped where her legs met the curve of her butt and lifted. Janet bounced up at the cue, wrapping her legs around Sam's waist. [2] Sam loved that she was small enough to do that, and Janet always indulged her. She didn't mind being lifted like a child if it was Sam. Mostly because the carrying was always rewarded with a liplock that would have made the devil blush.

"I'm here, baby, I'm here," Janet whispered against Sam's lips. Sam [3] moaned deep from her chest and let them ( ... )

Janet, keeper of Sam's secrets. Lovely and wistful. Sam's current pain is just a drop in the bucket compared to what's coming. *weeps*

1. her paternal grandmother's tuna salad recipe. which she didn't mind because it tasted too much like pickles.
2. which member of sg-1 french kissed her after they'd had too much to drink one new year's eve.
3. the phobias of most of the staff members of the sgc.
4. just how much trouble cassie had adapting to her new life on earth.
5. that she'd been married briefly in her late teens. it ended after a miscarriage & him cheating with an older woman.

I like that it gives us insight into two characters at the same time. Yes, the others in the set do the same to some degree, but this one shows a great deal about Jonas -

- that he was well aware Jack didn't like him,
- that he was actively trying to find a way to connect with Jack,
- that he was essentially studying Jack in a deliberate attempt to find that connection, and
- that he was willing to mold his behavior on earth in such a way as to accomplish his goal.

OOooooh much love for all of these. Janet was physician, best friend, confidante and caretaker to each and every one of them. She was a mighty soul in a slight package that couldn't hold in that boundless energy of hers. These are all perfect.

posted this, but wasnt' sure I had posted in reply to the correct comment so I deleted and reposted. Yes, I am a doofus. :D

This is stunning. Janet was such an presence on the show, so trustworthy and wise and solid and THERE, and I completely believe all of these.
