They were ranked based percentage of vote they earned in their prelim (the two characters who automatically moved on were ranked 16 because they didn’t have to fight their way in) and matched up accordingly

I KNOW. Nobody else has to compete against their own costars in round 1. I want to vote for both of them AND I CAN'T.

We'll have to comfort ourselves with the knowledge that they would support each other whichever wins.

Xena and Virgil are up against each other! But I feel like that one's going to be "And none for Virgil, BYE!" at the end.

(and as a mod, it killed me to put John and Susan up against each other in the first round, but that's how the math worked out. To my eternal dismay. But think of it this way: it guarantees someone from Babylon 5 making it into the next round.)

Poor Dureena hasn't got a snowball's chance, so I really hope Galen beats The Robot. I just want somebody from Crusade to make it to the next round. Not that I think they will, because I'm pretty sure I could count the fandom on my hands and feet these days and have a few digits left over, but a girl can dream.

(I do feel an unholy glee looking at how much Ivanova is ahead of Sheridan right now. NOT THAT I DON'T LOVE HIM TOO. I just love Ivanova more.)
