I really didn't want a Master's degree that badly anyway...

I've got a connection that sent this question to me. Could you imagine what this could be like if I didn't have a clue about this and walked in blindly tomorrow morning?
So, yeah. I'm about to jab my pen into my eye.

There is also a question with an "explication de texte". I'm not sure you ever had to do one of those, but I find them to be the most retarded thing on EARTH! Luckily I have the copy of the poem we need to tear apart, so hopefully the guy won't mark me off TOO much for my opinion...

We'll see.

Grr.

I can't even imagine going into that cold. I think I would just start crying and leave.

Oh, I've had to do many an explication de texte, and they ARE the most retarded thing on earth! I suck at stuff like that in ANY language.

Hope the exam went as well as it could... What did you end up going with for that stupid question?

I think I might have chosen events related to the end of the second Empire and the beginning of the III Republique. (Paris Commune, Drefus Affair, 1905 law making schools obligatoire, laique and gratuit, etc). But I wouldn't have really been able to discuss those using literature. I'd have had to talk about paintings instead.

I'm a lit loser.
