Coffee and Cigarettes was a fairly clever series of shorts, as seen through the eyes of writer/director Jim Jarmusch. I missed watching Dead Man in my old Philosophy class, so I was predisposed to finding philosophical ideas in the film, which I was fairly successful at, although some of the movie seemed fairly pointless in my view ( Read more... )

If somebody sent me their CD's, I'd have 'the postal service' mail it back to the sender and put him in a 'death cab' for sending me such garbage!

I haven't seen the last three movies you mentioned, but I felt similarly about both Coffee and Cigarettes and Napoleon Dynamite.

..Ladies, do you think that 'emo' boys really want to get laid any less than some moron football player? Try again, because there's nothing worse than a "pseudo-sentimental" who knows exactly how to break your heart. Besides, when you do something wrong you'll just wind up getting thousands of e-mails with all that Taking Back Sunday "I'll apologize for getting blood on your shirt" horseshit.

One of the greatest things I have heard in a while. (Painfully true, but funny nonetheless.)

I understand what you mean, pseudo-intellectuals are capable of learning just like anyone else, but it's not that that pisses people like me off. It's the fact that they, for instance, believe that if they sit in thinker position all the freakin' time that people'll be convinced that they're actually thinking, as if they're more concerned with how people percieve them than actually learning. I don't mind stupid people, not until they claim to be anything but, anyway. But really I just find the faux-intellectual type to be sheepish.

Sorry.

No, I know exactly what you're talking about and that was something I was trying to get across. It's as if looking smart is more important than being smart in this culture.

Eck...I said sorry because I meant it. I get too worked up over these little things without looking at the details and than go on a crusade about it.
