Time is nothing

OK. I need to talk about Misfits. I have all these feelings.

I hate this season. I mean, I don't really, but I DO. There was so much potential last season for this one to really burn through some crazy, amazing issues and get really plot-heavy and delicious.

Then we went straight back to character - almost standalone - episodes and being able to ( Read more... )

I basically agree with everything you say but also... I kind of enjoyed how sort of stand alone each episode has been. Like I kind of stopped caring about the overall and just kind of let each episode be escapist. I guess I just enjoy watching the characters.

I still get the feeling that next series is going to be one huge arc over the whole series in some major way. I also think it may be the last so idk idk.

I actually do miss their old powers though or wish their new ones were better.

THANK YOU. This, all of this.

God, the power change was such a fucking waste. Most of their powers are useless and haven't really done much good anyway. I was watching s1 and was so impressed with how the powers had to do with their personalities and that us just GONE. Alisha's power was always a bust but I loved the popular theory that eventually she'd be able to manipulate all emotions and not just sex, that would have been so cool! I legit hate every single new power, HATE them.

and yeah, NOTHING ever matters on this show! Rudy is Nathan but lamer and with some fucking split personality thing I do not understand and god I fucking hate how the show has treated....almost every single character in a serious way this season. What the fuck is even going on with Curtis and does Alisha have ANY sort of purpose outside of Simon?

And last year it was WORTH waiting a year to find out the answers to all the burning questions I had. Now, it just feels like nothing has been addressed?

Even Simon and Alisha's relationship, which at best is super fucked up, is just there. Happily plodding along. I've never been a big Curtis fan but why bother making him pregnant if he can just get rid of it? Seth could have had anyone raise the zombies and if he'd had to force someone that might have given his character back some of the bite he's lost. The time travel power needed to go back to Curtis. If only so I had some vague interest in him.

oh deer. you bring up so many valid points and yet for some reason (perhaps cause i'm utterly easy to please) i've totally enjoyed this season. maybe because i don't analyze (and i should) or think (i really don't) so it doesn't matter that nothing makes sense haha.
you're making me want to rewatcht hough with a more purposeful eye and i'm sure i'll see these points. i wonder indeed how they'll end it. i have yet to catch up but i'm interested.
