don't take not talking to old friends as much as a bad sign. anyone that you're that emotionally connected with, it's ok if you're not around each other all the time because that friendship is still always there even if things change. my friend brittany and i were talking about this recently. we don't see each other much anymore, our lives are so different now. but we still know that we are great friends and will always be. circumstances in life are bound to change, but that doesn't break the bonds that are formed. certain people in my life that i've known for like 10 years, with some of them we even stopped being friends for years at a time, and when the time was right we came back into each other's lives like we never skipped a beat (brittany, josh, bill, rick, being examples for me). you know who those people are. sometimes people need to go through some shit you're better off not being around for. and as far as trusting new people goes, that takes time, and it should.
