Everything looking good! Is that world map skirt large enough to get a petticoat under? I'm having a hard time gauging from the picture... Also if there is no zipper or elastic exactly what kind of closure are you using and how are you accomplishing this! Lastly... That key and frame fabric is divine!

Thanks for asking! Yes, the blue skirt can fit over my petticoat (my petticoat isn't very poofy though). I measured the petticoat to make sure. The waistband overlaps at the side and has one of those nice, sturdy hook and bar closures you find on dress pants. The pocket keeps the skirt from having a hole in the side. I sort of modeled it on the closures for my grade school uniform skirts.
And I really love the key and frame fabric too!

Stiff fabric can be very good for Lolita skirts, but it is tricky to gather. One way to make it easier is to make the gathering in smaller segments. So if you normally divide into four parts instead divide into eight. The smaller the length the easier it is.

Poofy sleeves are not so good for wide shoulders or muscular arms. For those of us endowed with such features, there is "don't wear super poofy sleeves" advice, ad nauseam.
Do what works.

Are you going to run a ribbon through the beading lace on the Key Frame Skirt? I think it would look really nice if it matched the print!

Hmmm... I really hadn't thought about it. I like the idea though! Do you think a dark brown to match the larger frames would be good?

I think dark brown would be best! That would tie it together well.

I'll see if I can find the right ribbon. Thanks!
