I would rather home sewing machine than hand for long seams, to be fair! I have also given up on sewing petticoats because I would much rather pay someone to do them for me :P

The only upside to sewing them is how much money you are saving.

Yeah, this is true. Although with the cheaper places like victoriangirldress and lurking for cheap square dancing petticoats on ebay, once I pay for materials the cost difference is only something like $5-10.
