Welcome to sew loli. Never worry about how long things take, learning is part of the fun. I think you'll find it a lot easier with a sewing machine but kudos for stitching so much by hand.

I hope your reconstruction goes well, the sketch is cute. Just remember to measure twice and cut once. Lolita stuff always seems to want much more fabric than you think at first glance.
