Those are lovely skirts and i am thoroughly impressed and jealous. ^^
However i was wondering how you made the skirt for the second one, did you do a rectangle skirt or something else. I'm currently attempting a similar style skirt and am a bit stuck. (my sewing knowledge is pretty slim)
If you don't mind could you help?
Thank you.

Yup, I'm pretty sure I did a dirndl (waist and hem are the same) for the skirt on that skirt. And I did double box pleats for pleating in the front, side and back (one box pleat, and then a second pleated directly over it). Does that make sense? Just say so if it doesn't haha and I will draw helpful pictures ;)

Thank you.
I understand the one box pleat, but i can't really picture a double box pleat. Pictures would be wonderful. Thank you very much. ^^

Did you draft the first dress yourself? It looks so neat and professional. How might I make such a dress? How long have you been sewing?

Thank you! And yes, I did draft my pattern myself. I have been sewing for about 14 years, since I was 8. I am always in my senior year of going to college for costume technology so...that helps too haha

Wow. That's amazing. How often did you practice? What type of projects would you recommend starting with? Thanks!

Well, I started out making things from commercial patterns - mostly simply dresses and halloween costumes. Then, after I learned to pattern, I made simple dresses, skirts and blouses. As I got better, I started striving to do more complicated pieces or whatever I wanted to add to my wardrobe. I sew just about every day - whether for class, productions or personal projects - so it keeps me growing.
