Excited to have a new grandson -- Faelen Marvin Ochs Thomas. Reports are that he is an awsome newborn -- doing well and learning to enjoy life. -

Edisto Beach and Charleston
Back from a wonderful week's vacation on Edisto Beach with trips into Charleston for the Spoleto Festival. Ronnie and Mark joined us and greatly enjoyed the vacastion. We stayed in a comfortable two bedroom town house. We enjoyed the beach, biking, seeing porpoise, sea turtles, pelicans and other wild life. Ronnie and Mark did the translation ( Read more... ) -
sick Toby
Poor Toby has an ear infection. His ears were swollen shut and we had give a steriod shot followed by steroid ear drops to open up his ear canals so we could put in ear drops. He is also on oral antibiotics. He is feeling much better ( Read more... ) -

I just did the most stupid aggravating thing. I bought a new mat for a picture. It was a silk screen of Mount Fuji that belonged to Bill's folks. It was purchased in Kyoto. The mat had been water damaged many years ago and I finally got around to replacing it. I carefully replaced the mat. Set it on the couch while I answered the phone. Then ( Read more... ) -

Weight loss journey
It is almost 6 months since I had bariatric surgery. I have lost 65 pounds and feel terrific. My blood pressure is normal and I am no longer diabetic! I have so much more energy. Next time a will post a picture of my vegetable garden with a plot that is full of wild flowers. -
Bariatric Sugery
Well I had my stomach stapled on February 12,2008 and hope to lose many pounds. The surgery itself wasn't all that bad. The hard part is adjusting to eating next to nothing. I get 2 Tablespoons of protein and 2 Tablespoons of vegetable or fruit per meal! I have to take mega vitamins and two high protein drinks a day in order to get enough ( Read more... )
