My previous posts are here:

I'll be listing them in "set" order. I'll mark when one is Unregistered.

Project Title: Chopin's Dancer (formerly Musical Parchment) Overdress
Project Start Date: March 6th
Planned Finish Date: March 30th
Actual Finish Date: March 10th
Did you make changes from original plan?: A couple. I couldn't find gold trim for the edges so I used brown instead. Also, I accidentally cut too much off because I thought I had made it too long, but when I realized I messed up, I put the cut portion back on and it created a slight ruffle. I didnt like the seam showing, so I added the brown trim over it, and I think it gives it more eye movement.
Did you discover something you want to share?: Don't get two measurements confused. You'll cut too much off and have a mental breakdown. Also, NewLook E6078 long sleeve pattern is not meant for long armed people. If you cut the "sleeve ruffle" piece off, add a wrist cuff from the "cuff" pattern, don't put the elastic in, and add about 5" to the sleeve altogether, then it will fit you. Damn my 73" arm span.
How happy are you with the result?: EXTREMELY! I wish the back and shoulders would have gone together better, but overall this is one of my favorite pieces and it's a "boasting" piece for me.

(Unregistered. Part of the set)
Project Title: Rose Red Capelet
Project Start Date: Before the Overdress
Planned Finish Date: March 30th
Actual Finish Date: An hour after I started? Haha
Did you make changes from original plan?: Yes. I curved the sides a bit more than the pattern called for and I didn't like the ribbon attachment, so I cut it off and I use a Ballerina pin my Dad bought me my first year in dance to secure it. The button in the picture is a reference so you can see where it closes.
Did you discover something you want to share?: Hancock Fabrics has great lace fabric stock.
How happy are you with the result?: 100% I can wear it with other things too.

Project Title: Chopin's Capot (capot is bonnet in french)
Project Start Date: June 15th
Planned Finish Date: I didn't have one
Actual Finish Date: June 17th
Did you make changes from original plan?: Yes, I made a buckram/wired brim bonnet instead of a floppy one. I modified the bonnet pattern that is included in Butterick B5265. I also made a triple rose pin out of gold roses and a single red rose pin. I also added tulle ruffles for an added element.
Did you discover something you want to share?: Trim that lookes like Velvet ribbon with ruffles on the sides is actually elastic trim with velvet over it and ruffles on the sides. Good thing I have a zipper foot!! Also, you can get horrible paper cuts from Buckram
How happy are you with the result?: 100% I think for my first hard/wired bonnet it turned out great.

Project Title: Chopin's Rose Bouquet(formerly Red Rose Crown)
Project Start Date: March 10th
Planned Finish Date: March 30th
Actual Finish Date: March 11th
Did you make changes from original plan?: I didnt really have a plan, except that it was going to be a red rose crown with pearls and crystals.
Did you discover something you want to share?: Headbands arent meant to be worn over the thick, 3ft long hair you have under your incredibly thick Minty Mix wig. ≧﹏≦ They slide.
How happy are you with the result?: 100% I love this headpiece. It's so ornate and it isnt that heavy at all.

Small picture of the back pearl strand.

Project Title: Triple Gold Rose Pin
Project Start Date:  June 17th
Planned Finish Date: None
Actual Finish Date: June 17th
Did you make changes from original plan?: I didnt have a plan. I saw the gold roses at Hobby Lobby with a friend one day and said I need to make something with them.
Did you discover something you want to share?: Not really.
How happy are you with the result?: 100%

Project Title: Spring Garden JSK(unregistered)
Project Start Date:  May 21st
Planned Finish Date: Before June 1st
Actual Finish Date: May 29th
Did you make changes from original plan?: Yes. I used Simplicity 2176 and overlayed the gathered bodice, and widened the straps. Also, I had to make a shirring panel because the pattern didn't allow a D-cup to fit. *merrgegrhegggggh* so i had to cut i think 4" inches total off from the waist and I added a 6" shirring panel that stretches to a little over 12". And no zipper!! I can pull this dress right over my head with no issues!!!
Did you discover something you want to share?: Even if the pattern says your bust will fit, it's lying. Stupid project runway patterns
How happy are you with the result?: 100% Even though this dress is fully lined with three layers in the bodice, it is possibly one of my coolest dresses! I wore it outside in 98+ degree heat plus 100% humidity around noontime and I was so comfortable

I'm so proud of this shirring panel, I had to show it.

Close up of the fabric and the lace

Project Title: Cream Blouse(unregistered)
Project Start Date: May 21st
Planned Finish Date: Before June 1st
Actual Finish Date: May 30th
Did you make changes from original plan?: I didn't really have a plan. I actually didn't plan on a blouse at all at first.
Did you discover something you want to share?: NewLook E6078's sleeve pattern is once again too short for my gorilla arms lol. I added 3" and a cuff to the sleeve. Also, this is the cheapest thing I've ever made! I had left over broadcloth from my lining that was 1.78 per yard on sale, the lace was given to me buy a friend, and the buttons were from the 1960s that I "inherited". total coast of blouse: about $3.
How happy are you with the result?: 100% first time the collar came out right.

Project Registrations!

(Also an Update)

Project Title: Ensemble de Fluers JSK
Short Projects Description: A rococo inspired JSK based off of this design by Innocent World: http://innocent-w.jp/shopping/121715/01.jpg I'm changing the blue fabric to this fabric from Shabby Fabics: http://www.shabbyfabrics.com/Wildflowers-750-B-by-Rachel-Ashwell-for-Treasures-by-Shabby-Chic-P13556.aspx?categoryid=50
Project Deadline: June 11th
Patterns Used: Self drafted bodice and a rectangle skirt.
Challenges: The underskirt has pintucks and ruffles and the overskirt is split with pleats. nothing I haven't done before for Elizabethan garb, but I don't want to mess up $10.40 per yard fabric. I'll have to make a quick mock-up to make sure the U shaped front is correct. I'll be putting in a full length built-in petticoat under the skirt to give more poof and to support the weight of the skirts.

Update portion:

Progress: 20% I started today about an hour before I posted this. I have the underskirt pieces cut out, pintucks pinned and ironed and one ruffle for the front detail cut out, ironed, and gathered. I just need to pin it to the skirt and sew it down.
Problems encountered that halted progress: I'm not sure if i made the front panel too short... by like an inch, because the pintucks will take up about 2 inches. but the ruffles at the bottom are about 5" long, so I should be okay. Also, a dressform would help me greatly when it comes to measuring my own length lol.
Ways considered to solve the problem: I have 5" ruffles. As long as I dont lose 5" from pintucks I'll be fine.
No pics to show the update.

Unregistered Completions:

Project Title: Petite Colombe Bergere Chapeau (part of the Ensemble de Fluers set)
Project Start Date: June 28th
Planned Finish Date: Before July 12th
Actual Finish Date: June 30th
Did you make changes from original plan?: I'm not going to flip up the back of the hat. I have wire around the brim, I just don't want to mess up the lace.
Did you discover something you want to share?: When making a hat that will only be about 16" circumference, ask the shop if they have a smaller hat than 22". you will have alot of straw braid around your studio.
How happy are you with the result?: Incredibly happy. I wish i could wear this hat everywhere!

The angle when worn

Project Completion(Unregistered)
Project Title: Chiffon Blouse (part of Ensemble de Fluers set)
Project Start Date:  June 30th
Planned Finish Date: Before July 13th
Actual Finish Date: July 1st
Did you make changes from original plan?: I changed the collar and made it more of a V shape. It only shows a bit of my collarbone and chest. The collar is just two layers of ruffles sewn on, and the "buttons" are hiding snaps. The sleeves are tight fitting and hit my elbow.
Did you discover something you want to share?: SNAP OVER BUTTONS. I didnt want to my machine with chiffon button holes, so I sewed snaps in. Oh, and Chiffon is the most difficult fabric to work with. I would rather work with silk or satin over chiffon.
How happy are you with the result?: 98%. I wish the sleeves weren't as tight. I'm not scared of busting seams or anything, and I have enough left over to make a new set if need be. I like the way it looks though.
