Working self-employed/freelance means that there's no holiday or vacation pay, no sick days, no paid time off. If I don't work, I don't make money. It used to be that I could take a day off here and there and make it up on the weekend, but there isn't weekend work anymore. Well, that worked out well. And I'm certainly looking forward to a two week visit with my sister in September, so I can imagine what fun you must be having.

I’m so glad you were able to take some time off that must be so great after such a long stretch of having to work everyday.

That is wonderful that you finally got a vacation! Woot!! Sounds like you and your sister had a great time!

I have been slacking on my diet but I have been maintaining this past month so I am not going to beat myself up over it. I still want to lose 20 pounds but if it takes me a year to do it, I'm good! I'm not giving up but I am going to be less rigid. :)

I said this in your last post, but I'm glad you got some time away and that Amy was willing to work with you so everyone could have a bit of a vacation.

Taylor and I are almost done with The Umbrella Academy and it's been a good season. I also only have two episodes of The Boys left, too.

Yeah, it was so nice to not have to worry about money for that week. And the August thing works out nicely; they don't have to rent hotel rooms or airbnb's for the British Fam, so they're coming out ahead financially even with the loss of my rent for that month. Could get used to this every summer! :D

YAY Umbrella Academy! S2 is still my fave but I really enjoyed S3. Ooh, and you've caught up on The Boys quickly! I still have one more ep of The Boys to go. Hoping to maybe get to it tonight.

It's like a vacation you don't have to pay for - a definite win for everyone.

This has been a really good season! Hah - that's because both of my kids were gone on Thursday so I sat on the couch and watched a few episodes to pass the time. I'm not used to being home alone. LOL I should finish in the next couple of days (I can usually get one episode in before work in the morning while I'm making my lunch/breakfast).
