EEEEE! The Kindle is cool but "substantial raise at work" is EEEEE worthy too. :) Enjoy your pressie-to-you :)

Thank you!! I'm super excited and can't wait to get it and start playing with it. It'll take about ten days to get here so I have a while to pysch myself up and out of my fear of new technology, heee!

Right????

And um. I could say that I will not be asking you questions/sending you links to web pages and saying OMG READ THIS AND EXPLAIN PLEASE... but that would probably be a lie.

... good thing you love me.

:D

Awww, thank you! I was excited by the raise, it's not common for my company so I was pretty surprised.

I bought the... I don't know, it's just called "Kindle". Not 'Touch' or 'Fire' or anything, just plain ol' Kindle. It has a five button thingy at the bottom, no keyboard, no touch screen. It looked to be the simplest (and cheapest!) one, and all the reviews said that if you just want it for reading -- not mp3s or note taking -- that it was the best one. Hopefully I'll learn how to use it easily! I took a look around the e-books section of Amazon and there's quite a few books that are significantly cheaper in price than the print versions, so I'm excited about that too!

Congrats!
I've been wanting one as well but I'm worried I won't be able to figure it out....
Did you get the Kindle Fire one?

Oh man, join the club! I watched so many tutorials and asked for flist advice before I took the plunge. I'm sure I'll still have a panic attack when it arrives and I can't figure out how to do *anything*, but hey, I've got a flist to turn to for help, right? HEE.

I got just the plain Kindle, it was the cheapest and simplest one.

Once it arrives and I start using it I'll post about how it goes. If I can figure it out, anyone can!

OH, EXCELLENT. It's even better that you have the same one so I can harass you... erm, I mean, ask you questions. ;)

I bought a case too! :)
