In the ongoing quest to Get My Life In Order,, I finally called on Wednesday and cancelled my cable television. The very nice CSR assured me multiple times, without any prompting, that this would not affect my internet service. The cable was scheduled to be turned off on Friday ( Read more... )

Pretty soon I would have started shaking from the withdrawal symptoms. Spiders crawling out of the walls wouldn't have been far behind. And I was minutes away from *dusting*. THE HORROR.

I. would. die.

Glad that you got it back though! :D

I'd totally get rid of TV if I could. Don't really need it with the interwebz the way that it is. So, hope that works out for you, friend!

Withdrawal symptoms NOT FUN, my friend, NOT FUN.

My reason for getting rid of cable is two-fold. One, it's expensive and I can't afford it. And two, it's a GIANT TIME SUCKER. I wake up, make my dinner, flick on the TV to have something to watch while I'm eating and then discover that I've wasted two hours watching back-to-back "Wipeout". *shakes head* Looking forward to more productive time!

It never fails, anytime I have made any changes--including service upgrades or enrolling in a long term contact, they always cut off the internet service.

We had a very similar thing when we moved, because for some reason, the phone rep forgot to mark the "move internet as well" check box when we scheduled the move, but then the technician dealing with the move didn't notice it, so randomly someone noticed it two weeks after the move, and disconnected the internet without any notice. While we were still paying for it, of course. Amazing how these things are the same everywhere around the world.

Hah, yeah! Incompetence knows no borders, my friend.

And randomly, I've been super-busy so I haven't been commenting much, but I've been really enjoying your life-with-Naomi posts, and the photos. And I'm so glad you got out and enjoyed yourself the other night. Good luck with her move into her new room. :)
