Went to see "Freedom Writers" on Saturday. It's quite good -- Hilary Swank does perkily idealistic well, the young actors held their own, and it was surprisingly funny. I was told by various people that it was a real tearjerker and to bring tons of Kleenex, etc, and... No. I did get teary-eyed at one point but I was never in danger of sobbing ( Read more... )

Patrick Dempsey (Dr.McDreamy) was also big for a while in the 80's. He starred in Can't Buy Me Love, a cheesy 80's teen movie. It's funny if you like those (which of course I do), but he is decidedly less dreamy as it is pre nose job.

I read the Freedom Writer's Diary a while ago, and I'm anxious to see if the movie holds up to the book. Had you read the book?

Hmm, you know how there are some men that you personally don't find attractive but can see how other people do, and there are some men that you wonder how anyone can find them attractive? "McDreamy" is in the latter category. Heh.

Haven't read the book, but I want to now. There's also a second book written by Erin Gruwell herself.

I know exactly what you mean about someone others find attractive. I feel that way about Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Matthew Mcwhatever his last name is. ;-)

I know just how you feel about the daily Gale-fix. I hope we get plenty of Randy updates from Minneapolis...but I really want to know what's next for Gale.

We had the treat of all the updates from Vanished go right into SLS. I may go through withdrawal.

I definitely think Simon & Randy watch AI. Simon writes about it too often. I usually follow it near the end of a season.

Your night with your niece sounds like fun, despite the concerns of your sister. ;)

EXACTLY. Randy's all well and good, but we NEEEEED Gale reports. Let's hope he lands something new soooon.

My night with Krystle was definitely fun. And I got to see her crazy-drunk-dance, which I plan to use myself from now on. Hee.

I saw "Freedom Writers" on Saturday too. I rather enjoyed it. I have almost bought the book of the kids writings a couple of times in the past, but I really want to now. Good Stuff.

I can totally see Randy and Simon watching AI. That image amuses me so.
