I did exactly that after my own undergrad degree (before grad school).

and I should note that the position was not advertised. I went through the yellow pages and just called every nearby clinic. I got like 99 "no's", and 1 "maybe." I bugged them every week till they let me interview. :P

My only experience with this is the psych I dealt with in college who practically handed out samples of drugs like they were the free mints you get at a restaurant. I sure did like those free packets of Risperdal :P

But I'll pass this along to some more knowledgeable folks who might have a better idea of what you're looking for (with permission of course)

In a very. very real sense this is exactly what an entrepreneur in a developing market does.

Makes people aware of something totally awesome they didn't know they were missing. In its broadest, bringing-in-the-most-bling incarnation, you run a service for psychiatrists and employ people with similar skill sets to yours. In its simplest possible implementation, you find a group that'd be able to realize the benefits of hiring someone fulltime to do it.

THe real answer's probably in the middle. When you see a job that doesn't exist, it's oftentimes because there's not _enough_ of a need in an individual business/practice for it. So what happens when you rent yourself out for 8 hours a week to each of 5 different ones?

Good luck.
