But isn't that announcement from...last year? That's the end of the third episode, which aired last year.

I'm pretty sure Sherlock is slated to start up again in the fall of this year. They're filming the new series now, have been for at least a month.

Unfortunately I was also in the UK last year when the last episode of the series was broadcasted, and there was no announcement at the end; this anouncement is from the repetition of the episode yesterday and it immediately caused reactions of outrage and dismay, so much so that Sue Vertue tried to appease the crowd on Twitter, and she kind of confirmed the announcement... http://twitter.com/#!/suevertue

So I guess this prediction from the voice over man must be accurate... the whole fandom is pretty pissed off right now.
