I have a good friend who runs a debate community, and she doesn't delete anyone for any reason. Stop worrying so much about who might get offended. Let people fight it out. People are whiners, swamping moderators with complaints because they are just mad that Someone DARED to insult them on "Teh Internets". It's juvenile. It's stupid. Adults are supposed to be able to deal with things better. You argue, and you get over it. Let your community do as it will- it won't always be arguing; there will be good conversations, and bad ones, and inbetween ones. That's life. And it's fine.

I'm sorry I responded with anger to you. Maybe you are young, but then, so are most of us, in our own ways.

My problem isn't who might get offended, but rather trying to keep things running smoothly. Fighting on the internet is stupid and is juvenile. However, so is fighting on the internet about fighting on the internet. Resorting to name calling solves nothing. I accept your apology for responding to me with anger initially, but do realize that it did not help my impression of you at all. I have done what I think is best for my community and I will continue to do so, regardless of my age OR if I sit in front of the computer and get fat and lonely?

I would also like to add that I will reinstate you in a week, but that doesn't mean you can insult people. Once again, I say, if someone insults you, tell me! Sometimes I miss the insults and sometimes the things people say I just don't think are insulting (such as the things mythicalmenace accused you off, which I didn't find insulting in the least) and I won't take action. I will take care of those problems.

I don't know you from Embla, and there's no way that empty insults like "get fat and lonely" can mean anything if they are directed at a person you don't know. You might say that I've experienced this treatment from other moderators in other debate groups. I don't always get insulting, but my patience is short for people who rush to ban

I do, sincerely, accept your apology. I understand how it feels to feel betrayed by a mod. I do try and limit my "modly" interactions with my community (and past communities) to things that actually need to be dealt with, and I try to keep things fair. I figured since everyone was so up in arms about you currently, that it would be best to do what I've done. I am willing to put the past aside and view you as a new person, and that's what I will do. After your reinstatement, I do intend to watch how people respond to your future posts and comments, and anything treating you unfairly will be dealt with (not necessarily with a ban, but if anything goes off topic, they will be warned) because it was my decision to ban you and allow you the opportunity to come back

A religious debate community will have conflicts and if some cannot accept to have their beliefs criticised, what is the freaking point?

Attacking beliefs is one thing, but from your post it definitely seemed as a personal attack. If you were attacking their beliefs, I would've had no problem as that is the point in harsh debates. You insinuated that owl_clan could not say something intelligent, which, is a personal attack. If you were meaning to convey a different thought, you were misunderstood.

When owl_clan was gone for a week, I made it a point to mention that I would still not tolerate name calling despite the week suspension. In the responses to you, this was complied with. You were asked, rather nicely, to remove the post with the name calling and you did not comply.

I'm well aware that religious debate communities will have conflict, but conflict based on degrading other members is absurd. If you cannot respond in a nicer way with owl_clan, then just don't debate with them. I don't see why it's so hard for the two of you to just respond more politely to each other.

First of all, I read the thread. You can say I didn't all you want. I read it from top to bottom. Second of all, just because you speak English does not mean your intentions from that comment were clearly understood to the rest of us who speak the language. From the way I see it, what you said is a personal attack. It is something that I would take as a personal attack if it was said to me.

I'm getting tired of this petty bullshit between the two of you. Both of you whine about everything. You initiated the whine fest in the first place. Not everything you do is perfect, just as not everything owl_clan does is perfect. owl_clan is well within his rights to take offense to what you said.

Go read that thread. I think that you might should consider a rule banning racist statements, and consider either asking him to stop making anti-White and anti-European statements, or suspend him. I'm all about free speech, but damn... even I don't allow racism on my forums.

Oh no. Racism is definitely an issue in the community. It was actually the main thing I was trying to avoid with the name calling rule. However, I read the thread you linked me to three or four times and I can't find a racist comment. If you could give me some specific sentences or phrases maybe I can see what you're talking about. As of right now, I don't see a problem, though.
