So sad and perfect for that time period. So very glad there is hope for a sequel too LOL.

I think she needs to think about how different unsouled Spike was from unsouled Angel while they are apart (and before Angel returns).......Angelus would never have helped her or done anything but toy with her like a cat with a mouse with the same end result.

There is such sadness and no closure for either of them....it insists he return if only for that.

Really enjoyed this story and hope for more. I have a kink for s2 Spike I think LOL.

Thank you so much. This was a very different story than I typically write, and the ending was a lot more bitter as well.

There will definitely be a sequel. I've got a title, and I have a plan.

This was a bittersweet, fitting ending. There's no way Buffy could get back to the business of living her life with Spike on her arm. She's already going to have a difficult enough time. This set the tone for the ending of the relationship: But Spike wasn’t stupid. This was all they would ever have-the darkness of a Los Angeles night, and the false comfort of a fake name. Here, she was just a girl, and he was just a vampire who had a penchant for false hope, and they had been able to comfort one another for a time.

But only for a time. Buffy deciding the time was up when she started to feel too comfortable felt right.

I'm delighted there's going to be a sequel. Here's hoping you let them prove that last sentence false.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked that bit. It was one of my favorites.

And yes, there will definitely be a sequel. Hopefully it will be ready to start posting sometime this spring.

I just sat down and read all four parts of this and I loved it all. It was so beautiful and they came together so perfectly. They found what they needed with each other but it still left it open for something to start when their lives have settled a little more.

Great great story. One of my new favourites for sure!

Love the whole story. Just so like Spike to help her without even trying. I am kindof sad that she just left but that is what was best for both of them. Awesome insight into them as a potential couple. Just something that could have been if they were both open to it.

Very good story. It makes the soul ache at the end, but it does it in such a way that it's logical and I can't wait for the sequel.
