First things first. My laptop's pretty much dead, and I'm going to have to break down and buy a new one. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm thinking that I'll be sticking with Windows, and I don't want to spend a huge amount of money - though I don't want some cheap piece of junk either ( Read more... )

If I can find it, I've got a whole binder filled with about 20 gigs or so worth of comics, 3/4 DC. I wouldn't mind loaning that through the mail.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll try to find stuff on my own. *sheepish grin* It gives me incentive to get other things done, if I promise myself that I won't buy [insert comic here] until I do whatever it is that I really need to get done that won't be if I start reading first.

Oh yeah, I only offered because it's stuff that's hard to find now. I don't download 2000>forward.

Well, if you ever need any recs, I'm good with that at least!

If there's anything I can't find, I'll let you know. So far, I haven't had any trouble finding harder-to-find stuff, but you never know what the future holds. :)

Any suggestions on series that I might enjoy? I started with Justice League International and have slowly been branching out from it.

Frankly I think consider some of the things in kink_bingo some people are being outraged to be outraged at hc_bingo. I'm sure there are people with legitimate concerns but if people are going to give hc_bingo shit about some of the prompts they better be doing the same for kink_bingo because a lot of the prompts are the same.

I am rather glad that the posts for hurt_comfort bingo have been out there jazzypom June 15 2010, 08:01:58 UTC
If nothing else, they've made me pause and reflect. Just as well.

Yeah, the J2 fail was special. Love In The Time of Fail, or some such nonsense. I've been half raging and the rest just shaking my head.

The original posts themselves have brought up some good points, and I have no problems whatsoever with them. Some of the comments, though, have really made me upset because they're lumping together different aspects of the hurt/comfort genre that often don't even interact. I've seen more than one person say that liking h/c of any sort means you're a horrible person, but the examples they've given have been the more extreme cases of h/c rather than the more temporary "hurts" that, for example, I prefer.

... if that makes any sense whatsoever?

I think it's as bad as the Killing Fields J2 fic from back in '07. :-/

J2 fic, set in Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake.

I think that summary basically sums up all you need to know. :P

Hey, it will be worth it just to shake my head and wonder what the poor actors did to deserve being in a film that bad.
