Summary: Perfect model Lee Sungmin thought it would never happen but it did -  his heart and real self was captured photographer Cho Kyuhyun, AN AMATEUR! Things couldn't get any worser than that, yes?

He believed that deceiving was an art that only he could do and pull off perfectly and fool-proof.

CLICK!

And he also believed that no matter what he said or commented on, people would be all over him and his “friendly advices.” After all, he was a damn charismatic one.

CLICK!

When he smiled, girls swooned over him. When he showed his masculine side, guys dropped their jaws on him. And when he fluttered his eyes bashfully and puckered his lips ever so slightly, everyone swallowed and stared like they were under a powerful spell.

CLICK!

Everything seemed to be at his hand and the model didn’t mind this kind of lifestyle at all. In fact, he was enjoying every minute of everyone awing and marveling at the perfection that he possessed.

However, there was just a teensy-weensy little problem none of the staff, the people concerned and even his manager knew about. It was a secret he kept and carried all through-out countless sessions, photoshoots and whatnots.

He, Lee Sungmin, was pretty lonely, amidst all these fame and fortune. He was a lonely, 23-year-old model working for SM Fashion Agency. How he got there was a history of a simple, dimple-showing smile. And he didn’t know that this was the price he had to pay - to be a model of perfection.

“Okay! That’s a keeper!” The assigned photographer signaled and the staff finally let tired sighs escape their lips. Some dropped on the couches and groaned, others decided to kiss the floor and rest right there and then.

Sungmin smiled -eyes almost squinting in disappearance- and greeted like it was the habitual thing he’d do, “Good work, guys!  You worked hard!” But actually, he wanted to go home and hit the hay as well. Heck, it was already past 3 in the morning.

“Why, you did great as well, Lee Sungmin. I’ve never worked with a model who can do what you can do!” Emerging from the crowd was the previous photographer - an old one, perhaps at his early thirties, Sungmin guessed - and congratulated the young model. Said young model flashed a little smile and bowed lowly. “And polite too boot! Isn’t there anything you can’t do? You’re simply perfect!”

Sungmin chuckled and waved a delicate hand around. “Ah, no. Please. I’m not perfect at all.”

“Modest, as well? Young men like you are rare these days, didn’t you know?” The older man remarked as he proudly patted Sungmin’s shoulder. “You, boy, have a colorful future ahead of you. These modeling business is made just for you!”

Sungmin wanted to shook his head but decided to just smile at the contuining ramblings the photographer made. Half of what the man said had already slipped out of the model’s mind. His thoughts were floating away.

You have no idea what you’re saying. Living a perfect life is not so perfect at all.

But what could Lee Sungmin do? He would have to live the rest of his life wearing a smile all the time, masking his real emotions in front of gleaming, expensive cameras and under flashing lights because he was a model - a perfect model in the eyes of photographers, viewers, watchers and fans.

Not only he was lonely, he was occasionally sad. He couldn’t do normal things and missed out teenager years because of early fashion career. Having friends at the business didn’t not work because of competition. Those friends were all pretenders.

Just like him.

Sungmin was pretending to be someone far from who he was. And he had to pretend to everyone as well.

Sighing, the young one retreated away from the noisy crowd and went inside the backroom where all his too-many-to-mention gadgets, possession and clothes scattered out from his three large bags. He looked at them and felt his stomach did a flop on him. Did he felt sick just looking at those things he had? Things he didn’t need?

But what exactly did he really need?

“Ah, Sungmin-ah! There you are!” A voice jerked the model out of his train of thoughts and the young one saw his manager entering the room. “There’s a new job for you! But it’s a little different from the usual this.”

It was Eeteuk, Sungmin’s all-too-hyper, caring and loud manager. The model didn’t mind having this kind of man as his manager because they did get along and Eeteuk did his job effectively because of his unusual and immeasurable charisma.

“What is it, hyung?” Sungmin feigned a polite, cheery tone as he packed his belongings and rummaged around the room, hiding the downcast look his face had on. It seemed the Eeteuk didn’t notice this. Good.

“There’ll be a new photographer working for you. A student-photographer. He was assigned to do fashion photography and the agency teatered him to you. Something about training and experience You okay with that?” Manager Eeteuk said in one breath; his gaze trailing down on the schedule book he was holding.

“I don’t mind.” Sungmin nonchalantly replied. Great, another victim. Just exactly when will this stop? Hell, I’m asking the obvious impossible.

“A graduating student whose thesis’ about photography, doing OJT under our label.” Eeteuk continued and Sungmin just nodded; half of the model’s mind just wanted to drop whatever the discussion was and just sleep. He needed one now badly. “And his name-

Then mobile tone went off harshly, interrupting Eeteuk. Grunting, the older man flipped his phone. “Hello? AH! Good morning, sir! Yes, yes… Oh, the day after this? He’d come here on his own then? Alright alright. Okay, thank you.”

Sungmin faced his manager; genuine curiosity painted across his face. “What was that all about, hyung?”

Eeteuk just smiled. “It’s nothing you should worry your little head about.” Sungmin did a cute pout and Eeteuk just chuckled. Deciding to exit the room and just as he was about to leave Sungmin all to himself, Eeteuk continued:

“Ah, your student-photographer’s Cho Kyuhyun. 21. Be nice, alright? You’ll meet him soon.”

Cho Kyuhyun… Sungmin mumured to himself when he was finally alone and shrugged. I bet he’s just like everyone else.

Little did Lee Sungmin know that the mysterious student-photographer, Cho Kyuhyun was far from being just like everyone else.
