“Did I mention that your photo, which will be taken by Cho Kyuhyun, will be displayed at their university? I was told that this would be some kind of photo-contest among universities. Seoul University’s representative is Cho Kyuhyun and THIS will be his thesis as well.”

Sungmin simply sighed and buried his tired head against his arms on their dining table. Eeteuk, oblivious to his model’s sleepy state, continued relaying as he made breakfast for them two. It was 9AM and they were scheduled to meet with this Cho Kyuhyun at 12NN, much to the model’s dismay.

“Is he, uh, some kind of prodigy or something?” Sungmin asked, finally showing a little interest but was more of indifferent at the fact that Eeteuk noted highly of someone they never met before. Heck, they never heard of him before too!

Eeteuk nodded; his attention still at his western style cooking - pancakes and bacon. The delicious scent wafted through the air, successfully earning a hungry growl from the young man’s stomach. This made Sungmin more alert. Damn, bacon.

“The agency told me that Seoul University sent us the best among their students. I’d be saying, ‘yes!’ to that.”

Sungmin shrugged inside himself. Right…

It was obvious that the young model was slightly annoyed about the current situation at hand. Just what was about this Cho Kyuhyun that Sungmin could not see himself be interested and enthusiastic -like his loud manager- with?

He’d better be awesome, or great, or something or else… Oh, wait. I shouldn’t care at all. Damn, I need those bacon now.

Much to Sungmin’s disapproval, he DID care and anticipate just who -and what- exactly his would-be student-photographer of Seoul Uni (a hint sarcasm at the school, people). Three hours later; instead of looking like a curious kid inside their meeting room at their agency’s building, he made a straight with a hint of boredom face. He dressed stunning and confidently for the occasion and brought about stares and giggles from co-workers and passerby’s who saw him striding towards his destination earlier.

His stomach did a familiar flop as he noticed a good number of admirers glancing at him. Oh, great. Now I feel sick again.

Nevertheless, he proceeded in looking marvelous just for Cho Kyuhyun just to show this photographer where this younger boy belonged - unmatched and unleveled with Lee Sungmin, SM Fashion Agency top model.

“Nice to meet you.”

Sungmin knew he wanted to gape but that would just be too rude and- HELL. HE DID GAPE IN THE END! His once composed and graceful mannerism broke like glasses because of what he was looking at.

Because right in front of him was a person sporting faded jeans, dark-colored fitting top, silver necklace, raven hair and black glasses. The person, none other than Cho Kyuhyun, was just as simple as any passerby’s he saw outside the room!

And why did I get myself all worked up for anyway?! He’s friggin’ ordinary! And Eeteuk made it sound that he’s… he’s-

“Sungmin-sshi?” A voice so delicate and moving, quite distinct actually, finally snapped the model’s out of his thoughts and grabbed-hold of the extended hand and shook politely. His grasp came too tight though.

“Ah, nice to meet you too.” Sungmin cracked a little smile, awkwardly greeting then bowing. He did a mental kick at the process and forced himself to regain composure, which he did achieve after two seconds or so.  He looked at  Kyuhyun, only to discover that the younger one looking the other way as if on purposed. Their hands remained tightly connected but Kyuhyun refused to meet gazes; his face turned away from Sungmin.

What the hell…? You should at least look at me when you greet. Rude, much?

There was a pang annoyance.

“HERE’S OUR STARS OF TODAY!” Entering the room (and successfully stopping the looming awkward atmosphere) was Eeteuk holding the infamous schedule book. “Now that you made introuductions, let us be on our way to the studio! Go go! Go go!”

Eeteuk dashed away as quickly as he came in just seconds ago, and left the two to their own again. Sungmin wanted to mentally hurt his manager for this but, oh well.

Sungmin once again took a quick glance of Kyuhyun, who, he already anticipated, not looking back at him. Just what is with you?

Sungmin paused and gulped. Or is there something on my face…?

Then the model had to run quickly to a nearby comfort room to double check just in case. AGAIN! Why am I getting all worked up for?!

And it was only afternoon and Sungmin felt tired already. Just a mere thought and converse with Cho Kyuhyun exhausted him with reasons unexplainable, Why, oh why?

Impressions changed slightly when Kyuhyun finally took out his camera and smiled happily at the sight of his large DSLR. Sungmin quietly watched from a good distance and wondered aimlessly why Kyuhyun wouldn’t smile like that.

Not that he cared or anything. Sungmin would be more than willing to pose for him if Kyuhyun had shown a little, per say, interest in him.

Now look who’s talking… Sungmin felt guilt eating his stomach away.

The studio they were in now was a large one and every corner had different set-ups such as an alley-way with a grunge mood, an underground-theme with chains and rust decoration, a well-decorated classroom for school-theme and plenty more to mention. Now, him and Kyuhyun, as well as the assisting staff, were assigned to do happy and merry-mood shoot behind white backdrops.

Just the thought of this made the young model Sungmin fell into depression, which was gone  unnoticed by everyone. He was to act another persona yet again - someone who he knew was not him. The moment he stepped out from the dressing room, dressed to kill, people automatically flocked and praised just how unmatched his beauty was.

Sungmin also predicted hours of posing and posing some more while the staff from behind freely did what they want. Unlike him, they could do whatever they want, ignoring him at the process and would only come to aid when they need to.

After all, it was their job.

On stage, under countless blinding lights and make-up on, Sungmin knew he was the loneliest. But not for long, that was.

“You’re not smiling.”

Sungmin blinked and followed the distinct voice coming from somewhere. Holding his current pose, his eyes fell into a Kyuhyun who was looking at him through his camera and was situated between standing lights.

“Excuse me…?”

Sungmin watched Kyuhyun pulled away from his camera and stared at him with his own raven eyes, then went back to his previous pose of looking through lenses and once again pulled away to observe. The model noted how the younger male’s brows all crunched up at the center, as if unsatisfied of what he was looking at behind his eye-wear.

HOLD IT. Kyuhyun WAS looking at Sungmin and WAS UNSATISFIED? Something was not right.

“You’re not smiling.” Kyuhyun repeated, firmly this time. This made Sungmin all the more puzzled because right now, Sungmin WAS indeed smiling.

Because that was the photoshoot was all about about - merry and happy!

“What are you talking about? Yes, I am.” Sungmin argued but his expression unfazed. He even pointed his upward-curve lips. Kyuhyun simply shook his head; coming closer at the model and hovering over him. Upon closer inspection, Sungmin noticed how seemingly unblemished Kyuhyun’s face was. He could pass to being a model if it weren’t for that damn snarky attitude of his.

“No, you’re not.” Kyuhyun boldy stated and did the uncalled for - raised the model’s chin with a delicate finger and looked straight into Sungmin’s eyes in a deep, piercing gaze. Kyuhyun finally locked his raven eyes with Sungmin's in a drowning manner.

He then leaned in, shortening the distance existing between their faces. His voice was low and breathed too closely at the speechless model, “You’re so not at all.”

In an instant, Sungmin felt himself shutting down. He couldn’t think, speak and breathe. All his senses were distorted too easily by a mere amateur photographer. A STUDENT-PHOTOGRAPHER that was!

Moments later, Sungmin saw Kyuhyun’s retreating back exiting the studio, leaving a handful of people in wonder and him too stunned to react.

He felt dizzy next, to the point of passing out.

Just what exactly happened to them? And what exactly did Kyuhyun have done to him?
