What feels like a million years ago I was really excited about the BeatRockLove movie. Which basically was half of original Rikkai plus Araki are in a high school JRock band with a non-tenimyu lead singer...

So now years and years later I found a torrent somewhere and am giving it a watch.
( What? It's my day off, I can slack if I want. )

Isn't it lovely! I was pre-sold on it as well. I started ramping up to Sherlock Holmes fandom a few months prior to the 2009 movie coming out and I knew Sherlock would be absolutely fantastic, but the breadth of its fantasticity (totally a word now) was unknown to me until I actually saw it.

It's so the little things, like the way a scene is shot or the way Benedict or Martin or any of them speak or react to a line. It's all so artfully done.

You should watch the unaired pilot at some point too if you haven't already got it. It's a really interesting comparison and you can see all the places where they had extra time and money to make things just right. Finish off the series proper first though. And you simply must post when you've finished up The Great Game! :D

I was thinking you might have a word to put in about Sherlock. ^_^ I'm beginning to think I should just take your recs on everything, as I would several of my new favorite fandoms much sooner had I done so. XD

The details of the show are just so absolutely and completely perfect and as I listen to the first book of the original Holmes stories, I love the details that I can see crossing over between the stories without the update being dragged down by clinging to the exact circumstances.

I will be reviewing/ranting about the remaining episodes, I'm sure. And I will be sure to go hunt for this pilot episode as well, since it wasn't in the torrents that I found.

You should watch the movie Kokuhaku. Its very good. :)

Also Nagareboshi (drama) was really good, I liked it a lot and think you will too.

BTW, I need your Seattle address so that I can send you the gift I couldn't give to you in person.
