It is not bad and wrong! This is the closest i've seen to the original books. They remind me so much of F'lar and Lessa and their relationship- it's amazing/creepy. It's probably not perfect- I am no english lit. major so I can't really tell, but they are truly believable characters, and I love the dragons, you made them completely likeable and interesting.

The best part for me is: it's simple, the usual day at the Weyr. Pern started getting too big? advanced? progressed? I'm not entirely sure how to describe it. Either way, I found the story thoroughly enjoyable.

I could seriously read about a billion more words of this universe and still want MORE. I've never read the Pern books, but now you make me WANT to, but I'm afraid I'd be disappointed somehow after reading this.

And, dude, me too. I didn't really realize until, uh, about a month ago how WILDLY CRAZY her gender roles and views of sexuality are/were. Oh, Anne McCaffrey. I especially loved the interview where she claimed that being the receptive partner during anal sex triggered HORMONAL CHANGES to make gay men more feminine.
