Realization #4

Sometimes I make everything more complicated than it should be, and I try to control the situation so much that I can never properly perceive it. Any change to the equilibrium automatically distorts the surrounding vectors. Maybe the only way to truly perceive the situation is to try it, risk it, and hold on for dear life in the process.

reflections, love

My apologies if I'm going to repeat any info I've already told you. I've spoken about this experience so much in the past few days, I don't know who I told and who I haven't told what details.

You would Sooooo appreciate the Kegan work that I got to experience. It says just that -- to look at the assumptions which may/may not be true, and then test it in 'the real world' to see if the assumptions (and therefore the underlying behavior) has some validity.

The biggest point to me, though, is the understanding if I make a choice that seems to put me into a bad situation, it is because making that choice was feeding into ANOTHER belief I had, one that may have been totally unconsious, yet strong. When I understand that, I forgive myself for my past behavior and don't live surrounded in guilt.

For an easy example: I want to lose 5 lbs. --> I need to eat smaller portions <-- I don't want to deny myself pleasure ( ... )
