Here's the height poll that I mentioned days ago. Height matters to me in all non-platonic senses. I know my friends here range from under 5' to at least 6'7 so I want to see what other people's limits are with regard to height ( Read more... )

After being in a relationship with a man who was 5'9" for EIGHT YEARS, dating someone who is 5'11" is really, truly, honestly, hard on my neck! The extra two inches really do make a difference.

I casually dated a guy who was about 5'3" or 5'4", and I felt very self-conscious in heels around him. He, however, did. not. give. a. fuck. At all! He'd dated a girl that was 6'2" before me!

I have a shoooort torso and looooong legs (for my height, at least). I'm like breasts stacked on legs, no waist! (I can't wear shirts tucked in.) So far I have not had a great deal of difficulty in sex b/c of height differences except I have never mastered sex standing up. And even bent over a chair is difficult. But when horizontal, all is lovvvely!

Maybe TMI because I don't know you but I have a hard time standing up too. I almost have to stand on my tip toes and it's really uncomfortable.

I think standing up is hard for everyone. :P

dude, isn't amazing what a mere 2" can do? I swear, I can tell how tall a guy is from across the room, that's how sensitive i am about height.

When I've got out with guys shorter than I was comfortable with (because some of them are relentless! and I used to have an even harder time saying no!), they pretty much all were assholes. Total short man syndrome. To which I can only beg the question - so why the fuck did you want to go out with me?? I've heard guys say that they don't care if a girl is taller than they are not but I've yet to see it so I've stopped believing guys who claim that. :P

lol - its so much easier on a bed. :) but standing up and shower sex and bent over the chair ... so nice when it works! :P

Well, I'm married, but I answered as I would have when I was single.

I'm just a poll whore... *grin*

I'm about 5' 7" - That's what I say, at least - I'm probably slightly shorter. I'd be a bit uncomfortable being taller than my man - especially if I wore heels (2-3"). The other way around, though, I don't really care how much taller than me my guy is, unless he has to really crane his neck to get to me. (Most of the men in my life have been around 6 feet tall). ^_~

:) That's how I feel. So why do short short guys think its okay to get all up on tall girls - like the guy at the club last weekend?? :P Taller is better. :) My last official ex was 6'7, a very nice height indeed.

I am super shallow in that a man must be at least 3" taller than I am. I have so tried to feel something for men shorter than me, but it doesn't work :(

I do tend to date women at least 3" shorter than I am, but I think that's more random than a height issue.

My height minimum used to be 6'2. -- 3" taller than I say I am. I dunno, I guess this past year has shown me that there are decent not-so-tall guys out there. Though, clearly, by the same track record, perhaps I should have held on to that height minimum! *laughs at self*

The women I've dated have been tall but I know I won't be that lucky ALL the time. :)

I've never thought about it that much. Other than I'd want a guy at least my own height within an inch or two if they're shorter. Without shoes my husband is about 2 or 3 inches taller than me. In shoes we're close to the same height. Short guys aren't a turn on.
I totally understand the leg/torso ratio. Some people have longer legs, some have longer bodies. I've never measured mine separately before though.

I don't mind same height as heels are not a big deal to me. But eye level is a big deal. :)

The only reason I know is that I used to dance .. through college mostly and for costumes and leotards and such, you get measured. Lots of lots of measuring. :P

I don't wear heels. I have one pair of sandals that are those chunky kind but I don't consider them heels. I'm afraid I'd break an ankle and I don't dress up enough to wear them. LOL
