Neville sat listening to Ron rant - again - about Harry letting Malfoy and Snape stay at Grimmauld Place.

Finally, not able to stand it any more, he got up, reminded Ron that it was, in fact, Harry's house, and that he could do whatever the hell he pleased, then left the room.

Now, sitting in his own room in Harry's house, he pondered what Ron had said, and countered those arguments with Harry's.

Snape was a thorn in every Gryffindor’s side, yes. He had been especially cruel to Harry and Neville. So why was it that Ron seemed more upset than either of them were? There was no question about it; Snape had been working for Dumbledore the entire time, and Dumbledore’s Pensieve proved that. Sure, it would have been preferable for Snape to stay somewhere else - anywhere else - but where would be safer than here?

Was Malfoy a spy for the Death Eaters? His situation wasn’t nearly as clear as Snape’s. Would Dumbledore's faith in him, even beyond the grave, be Harry’s downfall? Or was Malfoy a victim of circumstance, having been groomed to follow in his father’s footsteps, unable to get out until he was already caught up in it? Were Malfoy’s actions completely unforgivable, or had he been under such duress that he could be allowed another chance?

Head reeling, Neville decided to keep watch, just in case. After all, tomorrow would come soon enough.
