I'm working from home today because I'm really shaky from yesterday's doctor's appointment. But I am working. Just, y'know, without moving and while forcing myself to eat things ( Read more... )

Holy crap! Did you just not notice? I mean, I can actually understand that - you have the flu, you don't want to eat 'cause it'll just give your body more ammunition, etc... But geez, woman! Glad you're okay!

Hah! Replying to this comment instead of the other one anyway.

See? You totally understand how this starts. And then, you just don't feel hungry, so there's no reason to eat anything. Compound this over several days (maybe longer; it didn't stand out as something I'd notice), and there you go.

This is way more tiring and scary than I'd thought. How did I not notice?

Well, when I got the flu, I was worrying about other things, and tired and not all that hungry. And then when I started recovering from the flu, I still wasn't that hungry plus my body was used to not eating.

Since I wasn't getting any "hunger" cues, I just kinda forgot. ooops.

Not recommended.

There were a couple of times in college when I couldn't afford to eat for a few days straight (long story), and I remember when I could eat again I pretty much gorged myself, and then I felt all nauseous and shaky and whatnot. Yeah, accidental fasting is not good. Maybe you need a program on your computer that puts up a big sign on your screen saying "TIME TO EAT NOW" at the appropriate times every day. ;)
