[Plus side: at least he is male again. But he isn't wasting time celebrating this right now.]

Well, so much for a "distress signal". Perhaps... another method. [A sigh.] And dare I ask who plans on volunteering?

I must say, being part of an--er-- experiment of sorts sounds rather... [Shakes his head.]

[Another one that wants to volunteer, Itachi assumes. He gives the sphere a small questioning look.]

[Oh, he has no intention of being the volunteer. Not after his own bad experiences. And he doesn't take too well to being stared at.]

Can I help you?

Are you planning on volunteering too?

[Like the other brainless idiots...?]

Ah, well... no. I hardly see reason to board the flying ship of the outsiders without any knowledge of their tactics.

[Regene's finger dominates the picture as he briefly taps on the sphere, before it pulls back. His expression is faintly curious.]

And just what would we be volunteering for, hm? I'm new, so I need more information before stepping up.

Another new-- [Sighs again, deciding that it's far from a surprise.] Well, it seems we received a message asking for a, ah, volunteer to board their ship. These... [Gesture to the sky.] "Outsiders" are intent on rescuing us, but for what purpose...

Hmmmm... [Regene taps his fingers on his knee.] While I normally wouldn't be opposed to volunteering myself, I feel I could come under suspicion if arrived so suddenly only to take up with-- foreigners.

We'll just have to wait it out. People's plans always reveal themselves, if you have the patience.

At least someone is able to think. Really, volunteering for it? [Hmphs.]

I don't know about any plans, but there's a certain... ah, suspicious nature.

Well, it's good to see at least some of you using common sense.

I'm guessing that you're not volunteering either.

In these circumstances, it would be too great a risk without making a plan beforehand.

I don't trust anything they say. Who'd volunteer to be an experiment, anyway?

Much as I'm loathe to agree with you, those were... my thoughts exactly.

You're just jealous 'cause I'm so awesome. [boisterous!laugh]

Jealous? Of you? Surely you jest.

I'm a little surprised no one has noticed that the...Commander never mentioned whether or not the volunteer was going to be returned once they were done with them.

Regardless of whether or not they noticed, with a group this large-- oh, someone is bound to try.

They might regret their choice.
