[Plus side: at least he is male again. But he isn't wasting time celebrating this right now.]

Well, so much for a "distress signal". Perhaps... another method. [A sigh.] And dare I ask who plans on volunteering?

I must say, being part of an--er-- experiment of sorts sounds rather... [Shakes his head.]

I'm a little surprised no one has noticed that the...Commander never mentioned whether or not the volunteer was going to be returned once they were done with them.

Regardless of whether or not they noticed, with a group this large-- oh, someone is bound to try.

They might regret their choice.

I'm nearly certain that they will.

And then we'll have to deal with the repercussions. We don't know what these people will do, and if we have to stage a rescue...there's just too much we don't know. [rubs his head in frustration] We'd be better off just stealing their ship.

Stealing-- [Sigh, youth these days. Sadly, he agrees.] Much as I disapprove, there may be few alternatives. However... boarding it won't be a simple task.

If I wanted to board it all I'd need to do is be the one that they picked. [but even if that's a solution...he ends up just shaking his head] I'm not going to deny people their choice, even if it means we might have to rescue them ourselves.

But as things are, the chances of overpowering them are... well... dismal. [Shakes his head.] If that's the case, we'd best begin making plans as soon as possible. They'd be just as likely to take their "volunteer" and leave.

[sighs, just a little] I'm not going to help people who don't want to be helped. I doubt anyone would be happy or willing to listen to any plan that involved hampering what little hope they have.

Er, it's more a matter of finding out if they do want to be helped.

Do you suggest we just ask them?

I'm afraid that by the time they've made up their mind, it will already be too late, but... yes, asking is usually the best way of acquiring answers.

...you can ask them.

And might I ask what you plan on doing?
