Spring announced it's presence quite loudly last night. Loud enough to wake me up! We had a rain storm last night. Usually rain here isn't too intense, and there's no thunder or lightning, so rain is usually a long-lasting, quiet affair. But last night ( Read more... )

Wow, that blows! Hope that too much wasn't damaged by the flooding. How did the cats take it or were they hiding away some where?

Oh, they were both up in my bedroom - they weren't about to leave a warm and comfy bed/pillow for some nonsense. They probably would have freaked if there was lightening and thunder though.

I hope this (repairing the skylight) doesn't suck up all my cash for travel!!!

I think so. Probably the worst damage will be to the furniture (for sitting in water) and the carpet. Guess I'll know if/when the carpet starts to stink of mildew. :-(

Ugh! That blows! I had something like that happen to me a few months ago... except it was a window in the basement, and it was pouring in like a waterfall right next to my fabric, leather hides, and sewing machines! No damage, though *whew* I suggest, if you don't have a wet/dry shop vac that you get a cheap one and use that on your carpet... it'll help prevent mildew. Good luck!
