Anybody around who knows Photoshop?

I'm messing around with some icons, and I'd like to take one image and make it semi-transparent so I can lay it over another image and get a double-image effect. Anybody know how to do that? I'm using PS7.

My friend ladysnaps is brilliant with Photoshop. You could ask her, I'm sure she would know how to do that.
