I'm putting this in my journal so that it's easier to find. The movie En forelskelse is in Danish and unsubtitled in the original. My link no longer works. The movie is about 35 minutes long. If you search on Youtube, frequently it's up there, broken into sections. Then it gets taken back down and reappears a few weeks later, so it's always worth checking. As I write this (August 2010) there's an actual subtitled version on there, which is nice.
Here is a link to various screencaps provided by is_an_amoeba, organized (hee!) by my kinks. Click through That Scene and it's like having your own porno...
Screencaps Finally, here's a sorta-recap of the movie, and if you have questions/comments I can probably provide more detail, I have translations of parts of it. I'm doing this from memory so correct me if I'm wrong or missed/misenterpreted something (I don't speak Danish).
Melissa brings Carsten home to her house, they've been to some sort of costume party; she's Hitler, he's Aladdin (!) They are drunk. Carsten meets her parents, Stig and Birgitte. Carsten and Melissa go upstairs and laugh and make noise (at one point Melissa's joking about being able to hear Stig and Birgitte when they have sex) and then they eventually fall asleep/pass out. (Aside 1: yes, the 16-year-old boyfriend having a sleepover. Welcome to Scandinavia! In America at least where I live this would be called: Over My Dead Body.)
Carsten wakes up in the middle of the night and is sick, in what is the only attractive vomiting scene I can recall. Yes, he makes even that look good ... Stig brings him a glass of water.
Carsten is leaving in the morning, doing the hung-over Walk of Shame. Stig offers him a sweater to wear. (Aside 2: Watch Carsten take his vest off.) They talk about the taxidermied ducks, Stig is a hunter.
In school, Melissa invites Carsten to their weekend place, although she doesn't particularly want to go, but Carsten does, so they go.
Random stuff - unloading the groceries, Carsten helps Stig chop wood, dinner, etc.
Early in the morning Carsten hears Stig getting ready to leave to go hunting, so he gets up and goes with him.(Aside 3: omfg look at that boy's body as he gets out of bed, although for once I wished he weren't wearing his cute briefs.)
Stig is getting together the stuff they need in the car when they get to where they're going -- random chatting (this is how the duck caller works, etc.) Carsten looks nervous. Out of the blue, he kisses Stig, then looks embarrassed. He apologizes ("undskyld"; this slays me). Stig grabs him and kisses him back. AWKWARD. They go for what must be an extremely uncomfortable walk through the woods.
Awkward drive back home with everyone in the car. Then: Carsten is doing his homework, and Melissa says something about how happy she is that Carsten and Stig get along so well. Carsten is angry (it's a little too close to the truth) and says he wanted to spend time on the trip with Melissa, not her dad. Then he apologizes for yelling at her. Back over at her house again; some awkward dish-doing with Stig. UST much?
Carsten sees Melissa at school, she says she is going to play squash later. Carsten uses that opportunity to drop by her house to return the sweater to Stig.
Stig invites him in. AWKWARD. Stig starts talking about how much Melissa likes Carsten. Carsten, feeling guilty, starts to cry (!! cry!! you will cry too, unless you are me, in which case it's arousing), says he doesn't understand what is happening to him. Stig holds him, saying it's all right, he understands very well.
Then: That Scene, which I cannot describe because it makes me drool on my keyboard. If you are watching it, do yourself a favor: get some headphones and at this part, turn it up loud so you can hear Carsten's breathing.
Then noises in the background: Melissa and Birgitta have come home! AWKWARD!!! The boys zip up and stand around all nonchalant. Melissa takes Carsten upstairs, having successfully cockblocked both her boyfriend AND her dad! Shame on you, Melissa!
In Melissa's bedroom, she teases him about his bad mood. Carsten, in a moment of confused adolescent decency that does in fact make me cry, tells her he needs to talk to her. He tells her he's met someone else, maybe it's just a phase, it's not her fault, etc. She backs away and asks, who is she? Carsten answers, it's not a she, it's a he. Melissa tells him to get the hell out.
Carsten goes downstairs and asks to speak to Stig, says he and Melissa have broken up, he's leaving. He tries to get Stig to go to a concert with him, he has tickets. Stig says no, he can't see the boy anymore. Carsten leaves.
