Note: I realized I was never going to be able to move forward with the next chapter of Sickle Moon unless I took a few steps back and rewrote Chapter 1, which I composed without really knowing where things were going. I can't escape the feeling that I did Godric and Eric a disservice. So, I’ve changed it. It’s no longer a rape scene but it’s

I love Eric, but seeing Godric just take charge and not care about anyone else is just so hot. Sequel? D;

Yes, that was the point I started from mentally -- instead of mutual pleasure, or Godric letting Eric be stronger, as in some other fanfics I've enjoyed, what if Godric just took him?

The show both annoys and pleases me. I didn't read the books until after seeing the 5th episode. It's a bit hard for me to reconcile Godric/Godfrey of the book with the one who may become a staple of the show. I'm pedantic enough to reject deviation.
I think I understand, whatever else they do in the show they could not do what happened in the book without having great trouble, perhaps with the watching audience. Godfrey, the author was clear, raped and murdered children and could not seem to stop himself. So he chose to die. But first he saved Sookie. And then in the morning his choice to die left her weeping. And that was so poignant for me.
It's not like I WANT the Godric on the show to be a pedophile who slaughters children; certainly I don't.

Specifically re: Godric -- I feel that Charlaine Harris gave Godric a reason (penance) for wanting to die. Alan Ball, in his wisdom, changed the character - both in his new role as Eric's maker and in theory, Godric's background. I agree that it would be very difficult for fans to work up much love for a pedophile; I'm happy for all of us in fanfic-land that we can think of ways to help Godric past his ennui!

Their decision to take the Maenead and give her such a huge part is mildly annoying, mostly because in the book she and Sam had lots of fun together and, while she clawed up Sookie's back, she helped solve the mystery of Lafayette's death.
And I'm enjoying the TV Lafayette, too. I don't wish his character dead to match the books. They gotta give these actors some work, after all. *grin*
Watching this interests me because I'm wondering what they're going to do to put Sookie together with Eric and sideline Bill. Will they follow the book? After all, muahah, Sookie killed Lorena in the book, hahahah.

If they do Season 3 roughly according to Book 3, we'll still have lots of Eric screentime!

I am conflicted.
Good writing. *nods*
