o1|| walking
During long journeys, Clarissa clung to his arm from time to time and while Felius didn’t know it, even those ordinary moments became lifelong treasures in her heart.

o2|| waltz
She'd never be able to dance with him like the village girls did with their sweethearts, but being with him in the thick of battle and fighting back-to-back in a skillful impromptu tango gliding on the fresh sharp cry of life is more than enough for her.

o3|| wishes
Violating his code that he maintained for years - to never want anything on this foreign world - Felius decided his first and last dream was for everyone else’s dreams to come true.

o4|| wonder
The love she felt was not something so easily categorized as 'familial', 'romantic', and such - what mattered was that the love was there, strong and true.

o5|| worry
Almost surreally, when Felius declared he would go and close the dimensional hole, an unexplainable feeling of dread chilled Clarissa and she unconsciously grabbed his arm.

o6|| whimsy
It was a childish thing really, but Clarissa sometimes happily thought she was a dandelion seed out in the wilderness and Felius was the wind that kept her aloft.

o7|| waste/wasteland
When Clarissa looks out into the open wilderness and the horizon joining the sky and the earth, she doesn’t see a land deprived of life, but a land filled with precious memories.

o8|| whiskey and rum
Drinking away a day’s trouble was a luxury Felius never knew, and frankly, looking at how some people behaved, considered it a rare blessing of his past life.

o9|| war
Once, he found no worth in his life, and thus depended on protecting others.

1o|| weddings
After she had carefully explained the concept of newlyweds and the creation of a new family to Felius, he asked her, “Then, like you and me?”

11|| birthday
A dandelion seed fluttered past Felius and he followed the solitary fluff with his eyes, wondering if it too would land in a suitable place to begin a new life.

12|| blessing
How wonderful it is to have someone hold her hand, wait for her to be ready to stand and - with infinite patience - never tell her where to go, but rather wait for her to make a decision with only devotion in their eyes.

13|| bias
Even ten years after that incident, Clarissa believed every day, every hour, every minute, every second that he would come back, knowing he would never betray her.

14|| burning
Salty tears stung her eyes and cascaded down her cheeks, yet she couldn’t look away in fear of the inevitable.

15|| breathing
Despite all the dangers behind them, Felius almost wanted to stop running and instead comfort Clarissa; however, survival came first and he knew this was the time to be her legs, not her arms.

16|| breaking
In that dark corridor, every footstep that echoed further away from her was the world shattering before her.

17|| belief
He knew he would most likely die, he knew that the chances of him meeting her again were beyond slim, and yet Felius truly believed he would come back to her.

18|| balloon
First it was one stray soap bubble that tickled his nose and he left it at that, then it was two, then four, until a swarm of bubbles exploded around him and when he finally recovered from the traumatic experience, Felius found Clarissa laughing with a smile like the sun above.

19|| balcony
Though there was no need to bother him, whenever their room had a small balcony she’d always call him over since he would have never left the room to look at the stars otherwise and, she had to admit, something about the whole notion struck her as ‘romantic’, as she always found herself hugging him for warmth.

2o|| bane
Protecting someone was a much harder task to fulfill on the battlefield because it risked the defender’s life, but whenever Felius brandished his pole arm, his own safety was the last thing on his mind.

21|| quiet
Melissa had been joking when she said women fell for the silent-types, but upon seeing Clarissa’s fascination with him, she sighed with a smile to herself that it might have been true after all.

22|| quirks
Clarissa pouted whenever Felius used his straightforward way of thinking on, well, everything - food, clothes, it was all about how one could use them for surviving - and always tried her best to open him up to the joys of such little things.

23|| question
In the years that followed Felius’s disappearance, questions were all that rested on the tip of Clarissa’s tongue; questions about his wellbeing, her regret, his whereabouts, her unwavering belief, and when he would come back to her.

24|| quarrel
Their harshest argument was over Felius being too general about how her cooking was.

25|| quitting
He never called her by anything other than her name when she was impersonating the princess despite knowing the dangers it entailed; after all, Felius was the only one other than herself who knew how much this lie disturbed her.

26|| jump
For the past eleven years she’d gotten used to falling without someone to catch her, but on that fateful day when she fell again in her rush to reach him, Clarissa felt not the rough ground beneath, but the warmth of familiar arms wrap around her.

27|| jester
His laughter was special and precious to her just as much as her happiness was to him.

28|| jousting
An amused Labrynthia calmed an irritated Levin every time the ‘princess’ sought a conversation - quite often, too - with the suspicious stranger in black that was Felius.

29|| jewel
As much as leaving her pained him, Felius always thought he would somehow end up doing so and entrusted Levin to protect not what the girl was, but who.

3o|| just
In Clarissa’s family, there was a place for everyone, but she held a special place just for him.

31|| smirk
Levin's question had caught her offguard and Clarissa - who was, at the moment, Princess Alexia - had many answers to what Felius truly was to her, but knew this was not the moment to confess anything and replied that he was family, just as everyone in Chevalet Blanc was.

32|| sorrow
Crying, she grasped his hands as tightly as possible, trying to concentrate all of their happiest memories through the suffocating sorrow.

33|| stupidity
Felius could forgive idiocy, but not when it endangered Clarissa.

34|| serenade
During the month-long sea voyage to Elesius, the undulations and lullabies of the ocean waves would have overwhelmed her if not for Felius’s sturdy support beside her.

35|| sarcasm
Their fates were severed, but through the cold mockery of chance, they held onto - not hope, for that was the cure for despair - but trust and love to guide them together again.

36|| sordid
For years, Felius stoically maintained that he was different from everyone else, apart from everyone else, and that his death would cause no grief; little did he know how entangled he had been in Clarissa’s and soon everyone in Chevalet Blanc’s lives.

37|| soliloquy
Once in a while, Clarissa would notice the distant look in Felius’s eyes and pull his cheek to bring him back to the present - to her.

38|| sojourn
He vowed with his life to protect her no matter where or why their journey went.

39|| share
On cold days, she often nestled into his arms and slept with the world’s happiest smile on her face.

4o|| solitary
Levin couldn’t bring himself to tell Clarissa that Felius had entrusted him to protect her should he be unable to do so; it would have set the truth in stone.

41|| nowhere
Clarissa spent eleven years wondering where Felius was and how he was doing, but she knew he was still right next to her, holding her hand.

42|| neutral
He was puzzled as to how excited and happy everyone was with Clarissa’s new clothes; Clarissa was still Clarissa no matter what she wore.

43|| nuance
It never truly surprised either of them just how much they knew of what the other was thinking through little hints and signs.

44|| near
It wasn’t until she saw and boarded the mysterious Lombardia and - with her mouth a little too open - watched Felius man the controls with the ease of a person sliding back into an old habit, that she realized he really did have his own story before joining with hers.

45|| natural
Where one was found, so was the other; like how the sun rose in the east and fell in the west and how there was shadow wherever there was light, it was just how things were.

46|| horizon
In the silence of their farewell, he quietly summed up his heart into a few words, knowing she wouldn’t be able to hear them through the thick door between them; then perhaps if - when - he came back, he’d be able to tell her.

47|| valiant
With a wild surge of emotions and memories swirling inside him, Felius shouted to his now-dead traitorous comrade, “All the things important to me… I’ve protect them all!”

48|| virtuous
He wasn’t so much her knight in shining armor as he was simply her most precious person

49|| victory
They had won, won at last, and yet lost what they truly wanted.

5o|| defeat
The deafening roar of the exploding generator devoured all light, noise, substance, and logic; before disappearing into the eerily calm white, Felius lightly closed his hand and uttered a name lost to the void.
