Sirlin...I love you. You make me laugh.

So, after devouring my long-overdue dose of Sirlin, I decided to peruse the WoW ToS, which he bitches about loudly, to see if it was really that bad.

It is. I find that sad. Listen to this, from the section labeled "Rules Related to Game Play ( Read more... )

About that last arbitrary rule. While they _can_ do anything, I'm betting they won't. That clause is just there so that if they really really feel they need to do something, they can point to that clause as justification. A sort of covering your bases thing for that what if scenario that you can't think of but might happen such that something happens that falls inbetween the cracks of your ToS ( ... )

I understand what you mean. If a common item had invulnerability attached to it, that would be beyond what's considered 'fair' by anyone, simply because it would be unbalancing. That I agree with. Anything that gives an OVERWHELMING advantage like that needs to be dealt with. But simple things are what they seem to be jumping on, simple things that they could slap players with a 72hr suspension for using, then later patch. But they ban for them ( ... )

As a postscript (since I can't edit a comment), Blizzard doesn't seem to be well known for giving out warnings. After all, if they're willing to ban people for things said on a non-Blizzard owned forum about a guild they thought was full of Blizzard employees, they're certainly not going to warn them.

Though, after the whole gay-lesbian guild incident, they have been forced to go through 'sensitivity training' so they can help cut down on the amount of homophobic talk that goes on in the public text chat channels. Yeah, right. Like THAT'LL happen.

Banned for playing too long? Why? Banned for fighting on rooftops? Why?

I'm definately not playing WoW and that just cements it. Especially the playing too long. For fucks sake I'm paying $15 a month, I get to play as long as I damn well want. Why would they ban someone for that?
